Turkey Earthquake 2023

In February of 2023 Turkiye experienced an 7.8 earthquake with devastating effects over a large region. UWR sent numerous teams to various affected locations. UWR teams initially helped to coordinate the local manufacturing of temporary structures to house those who had been displaced. UWR teams then coordinated with local organizations to prepare and provide food for hundreds of people twice a day, distribute needed household supplies, set up tents and make and deliver tiny homes. One early UWR team helped to establish and maintain infrastructure to a camp that supported most of these operations. UWR continued to send teams through July 2023 to help support these efforts."
